Church Notices

FOODBANK: Over the last year we at GPC have partnered with the Newtownabbey Foodbank providing non perishable items for those in our community who perhaps struggle to make ends meet. Many have fallen on hard times due to marriage difficulties, unemployment, or ill health. The Newtownabbey Foodbank is run by the Trussell Trust and the Carnmoney Foodbank is one of four distribution centres. The Trust also works in conjunction with Woman’s Aid, Barnardo’s and GP services by handing out vouchers that can be redeemed at the local centres, where food and toiletries etc are given out. This year our Sunday Club are also getting involved, getting our children to bring ‘a Kilo of Kindness’, a few items that contribute towards this worthy cause. These items will be displayed at our forthcoming harvest service on the 29th September. The following items are ideal and items can be left in the purple box as you enter the church: cereals, chocolate, diluting juice, tinned rice pudding, tinned custard UHT, milk and tinned tomatoes. As always our congregation is generous and you are thanked in advance for your love and support.
